Authentic Texas BBQ, Frank’s is known for its falling-off-the-bone quality, slow-smoked, large cuts, finger-licking good meat. Frank’s Barbecue Texas Smokehouse in Vic Park is no exception to the rule. Their long tables and benches outside are ideal for dining out with your posse. Menu-wise, you’ve got ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork and chicken wings. Vegetarians can opt for fries, beans, potatoes or creamy salads. For dessert, they have pecan pie too!
Swap the Manhattan pavement for the sand at South Beach with hot dogs from Run Amuk. Vastly different to our humble sausage sizzle, Run Amuk brings the delicacy of rushed New Yorkers into the Fremantle zeitgeist. Spoilt for choice with 15 types of dogs, make any of them veggie with a simple sausage swap. Gluten-free rolls are available for $1.5 extra too. Not a request that can be filled at a traditional hot dog cart in NYC.
Speaking of NYC, pizza by the slice is an unfortunate rarity in Aus. Luckily Mac Daddy’s came into our lives, providing not only the cheesiest NY 16” pizzas to the scene but also… whopping 22” pizzas. Finally! Find them on Beaufort Street in Mt Lawley, treat your tastebuds with the usual classics like Margherita, Pepperoni, or try something OTT with All About Cheese or Meat and Manhattan. Add a side of buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks or garlic pizza knots. Bigger is better.
Just up the road, Bagel-O’s is the newest spot to launch on our Best American Food In Perth hit-list. Choose from seven different bagel types, all somehow fluffy yet dense and chewy. They have pretty incredible sandwiches too, grab one for brekkie with your coffee, on the go or for Sunday brunch.
Can you believe Varsity Bar opened up its first location in Nedlands seven years ago? The fraternity-inspired sports bar has always felt like a permanent fixture in our lives.
