Located on 521 – 525 Beaufort Street, Highgate WA, The Beaufort is on its way to becoming a prominent social hub. The three levels of the venue feature a sprawling gastro pub (The Beaufort), a modern Asian restaurant (Lotus) and a sneaky speakeasy bar (Cypher).
Behind the scenes
This building was used as a warehouse in the 1950s by the Turvey Brothers where they manufactured furniture. It was later used by Empire, the furniture retailer, who closed shop in 2019.
After Nokturnl purchased the building in 2020, the plans to turn it into a chic hospitality complex took shape.
The Beaufort is the latest multi-level hospitality venue developed by the team that revamped The Old Synagogue.

The Beaufort’s bar will leave you spoilt for choice. You will find an incredible range of drinks here right from whiskies, wines, beers, cocktails, and gins.

The roof top terrace, Candy Bar, comes alive with tropical surroundings, terrazzo seating, modern rattan chairs, and a massive jungle mural – the perfect setting to gossip, unwind, or chatter.
Tired of sitting around? You can head into the dance floor around the central tiered jungle for some action. Or just sip away to your heart’s content in the outdoor beer and wine garden along the Beaufort Street strip.
If you go past the Cyrillic projector, you will find the hidden cocktail bar, Cypher that is known to be feature the largest collection of spirits in Perth, including stunning cocktails. You’ll also find a choice of delectable cheese board, meat board, and light bites.
Lotus has all the mouth-watering Asian delicacies that you would expect right from freshly shucked oysters, dumplings, sambal, fritters, and aromatic salads.
